DAY TESTS AT INTERSOM

Objective measurements of daytime sleepiness

Daytime sleepiness can be very dangerous, but is difficult for those affected to objectively assess the degree of their fatigue. We work with scientifically relevant test procedures that allow an objective measurement of the patients’ ability to react and their sleepiness during the day.

Our daytime tests are particularly relevant regarding sleep medical examinations of people in high-risk occupations (sales representatives, pilots, truck and taxi drivers, locomotive and crane drivers, etc.). In principle, however, all people with sleep disorders can misjudge their wakefulness and have serious accidents as a result.

INTERSOM conducts all kinds of day tests, including the

  • Pupillographic Sleepiness Test (PST)
  • Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT)
  • Maintenance of Wakefulness Test (MWT)

In addition, we can arrange the following in individual cases:

  • A vigilance test
  • Actigraphy

THERAPY

INTERSOM treats people individually and interdisciplinarily

There is no patent recipe for successful treatment of a sleep disorder. The focus must always be on the individual.

At INTERSOM, detailed preliminary discussions and thorough diagnostics form the basis of every therapy. Sleep disorders are characterized not only by a variety of symptoms, but also by multiple causes, which are often rooted in other medical disciplines. As a result, INTERSOM thinks and treats patients in an interdisciplinary manner. When drawing up a therapy recommendation, we take into account all of our patients’ previous and concomitant illnesses and attach particular importance to close, interdisciplinary cooperation with general practitioners and specialists in all disciplines.

INTERSOM treats all kinds of sleep disorders

INTERSOM treats all of the daytime fatigue and sleep disorders listed in the International Classification of Sleep Disorders (ICSD-3, 2014), for example:
